"Fashion For a Cause" - The Dying Breed Collection

The issue of awareness about conserving wildlife has been taken a step further by Jungle Lore.

Jungle Lore with the artistic excellence of Gautam Gajbar came up with the concept "Dying Breed"; the idea was to come up with wildlife conservation based graphical illustrations of mega charismatic fauna, that would move people. These illustrations are being marketed as T- shirts and canvas prints.

THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS CAMPAIGN

To create and increase the awareness through out the world about the issue of endangered species and the severity of the possible outcomes if not taken into serious consideration. These particular species (The royal Bengal tiger, orangutans, elephant and the giant pandas) are flag ship species and are indicators of the health of our natural world. We share this planet with many species and it is our responsibility to protect them, both, for their own welfare, as well as our own. Our attitude towards these species and animals has undergone radical change during the past decades.

Today most of these mentioned species are nearing extinct because of habitat destruction (loss of living space owing to urban development, pollution or human greed in any of its various forms), introduction of non-native organisms, and direct killing (over-harvesting, poisoning) and illegal hunting and trading of their body parts for commercial purposes. As children, small creatures endlessly fascinate us; as adults, we can protect them so as to inspire the future generation.

The result was the following :

The Tiger The Orangutan
The Elephant The Panda
The Flamingo

Finally, all these T-shirts are being marketed under the banner "Fashion for a cause". Our stalls in Kalaghoda received hundreds of visitors and the popularity of these T-shirts have grown ten fold in just a few months. We are also merchandising these T-shirts under brand "Jungle Lore" and can be bought on-line from e-bay or the Jungle Lore Store.
