
1. How is the 18-55 Photo Journey different from the usual Jungle Lore Trips?
Jungle Lore caters to a varied clientele ranging from individuals, families, schools and corporate organizations. Folks attending these are usually a mix of people from all walks of life looking for a great wildlife experience.
In the newly launched concept “18-55”, Jungle Lore aims to cater to likeminded photographers at all levels.18-55 Photo - Trips will be conducted using the same set-up with specially designed itineraries that cover tutorials from award winning photographer Kedar Bhat, who joins the team with over a decade of experience in Photography and Teaching.
A mix of classroom session accompanied by practical sessions and critical feedback should ensure you go back with a lot of learning.
2. What is the audience for these Photo-Trips?
Absolutely anyone! Amateurs, Hobbyists and semi-professional photographers can join these trips. The modules are carefully designed with a mix of classroom and practical sessions along with a team of reputed naturalists/experts.
3. How many people will share a vehicle for wildlife trips?
To facilitate comfortable positioning for photography, Maximum of 4 participants will share a vehicle with the driver and naturalist. If you need more space and want to share it with not more than 1 person, please talk to us in advance.
4. I have attended photography courses and know the basics? Should I attend?
Well there is always more to learn! As a part of the joining formality, we would be reviewing everyone’s work and setting your expectations before you enroll yourself. Kedar can work on a one-on-one basis with you and give you insights on the advanced techniques. We are providing a platform for a large audience of semi-professional photographers.
Kedar has been conducting photography workshops and training photography students at various institutes.
5. What kind of equipment do I need?
18-55 Photo-Trips cover different aspects of photography like Landscapes, Portraits, Macro, Wildlife & Astrophotography in India and abroad. There is a clear bifurcation in the equipment for these trips.
For trips to Ladakh and Wildlife destinations, a DSLR with a 70-30mm lens or a tele-photo lens is preferred. For Bird photography 400mm and above is preferred. Normal and Wide lenses work great for landscapes. Monopods, Tripods, bean bags for shake free images are always preferred.
Astrophotography is a specialized form of photography and participants will have to have a certain level of equipment.
6. I do not have a DSLR, Can I join with my digital camera?
While a DSLR is recommended, a lot can be done with simple point and shoot Digital cameras if you know the tools of the trade. Good Photographs are about compositions and using your equipment optimally.
