ABOUT SANGLA VALLEY

Surrounded by forested slopes in the higher Himalaya range, it is named after the serene Sangla village. Until 1989 outsiders could not enter the valley without a special permit from the Government of India, due to its strategic position on the Indo-Tibet/China border . The Baspa river meanders through the valley and is famed for trout fishing. With magnificent views of slopes forested with pine nut orchards, Royal red apples and cherry trees Sangla Valley stands apart.
