Travel Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival at Leh.
 
Upon arrival, transfer to the very hospitable Hotel Bijoo located near Leh Market. A day of rest is highly recommended as it eases the process of acclimatization. Also sipping hot Tea while stretching your legs in the lap of Himalayas is definitely not a bad way to start you trip, alternatively you can also choose to visit the local market in the evening.
Day 2
Visit places around Leh
 
Sindhu Ghat: The Sindhu Ghat at Choglamsar village at the bank of Indus is where 50 senior Lamas hold prayers to mark the beginning of the Leh festival.
Hemis Monastery: Hidden in a gorge, built on a green hillside the Hemis Gompa lies on the western bank of the Indus, also happens to be the biggest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh and is a must for visitors. It holds the annual Hemis Festival and is well known for its wall paintings.
Thiksey Monastery: Thiksey Gompa is the most beautiful of all monasteries in Ladakh which lies on a hilltop to north of Indus River. The monastery is home to a 35ft Buddha statue, a must visit.

After a hearty lunch and some well deserved rest we move on

Leh Palace: The erstwhile palace was home to the royal family, located on a hilltop it overlooks the Leh town and offers spectacular views of the same.
Shanti Stupa: A spectacular white domed structure, the Shanti Stupa located on a hilltop at Chagspa offers magnificent view of the sunset. It was constructed by a Buddhist organization, known as 'The Japanese for World Peace'.

Day 3
Visit Pangong Lake
 
After crossing the third highest motorable pass the Changla Pass (17800 ft) one arrives at the picture pefect Pangong lake(14500 ft, Highest Salt water lake). It’s an unimaginable 135 kms long with almost 70% of the lake in China. Its part of the Changthang geographical setting in the higher Himalayas.
Day 4
Visit Nubra Valley
 
Via Khardungla Pass (World`s Highest Motor able Road, 18360 ft) lies the uniquely landscaped Nubra valley which separates Ladakh range from the Karokaram range. One can experience the white sand desert of Hunder equipped with double hump camel rides. We spend the night sharing peace and space with the mountains at Nubra Organic Retreat.
Day 5
Visit Diskit Monastery
 
Diskit monastery is the oldest and the largest monastery in Nubra Valey. The Gompa roof is said to offer glorious views of Nubra valley. We make our way to Leh as the sun sets in.
Day 6
Visit Tso Moriri(Via Mahe Bridge)
 
Named “Sacred gift for the living Planet” by the local community, Tsomoriri (High Altitude Lake, 15080ft) is indeed breathtaking. The Nomadic Camp where we will be staying lies on the banks of the Lake, and certainly is an experience to remember. The area being breeding grounds for a number of birds is a protected reserve.
Day 7
Visit Tsokar Lake
 
Tsokar Lake a salt water lake lies at a close distance from Tsomoriri. Extracted salt from this lake is sold all over Ladakh. We proceed to Leh via Tanglalngla pass(Third highest motorable pass, 17,582ft) . On this route wildlife unique to this region such as Black Neck Cranes (Very Rare now), Marmots, Kiangs(Wild Asses), Mountain Goats, Ibis among many others can be experienced.
Day 8
Visit Kargil, Magnetic Hill
 
A number of attractions are on offer en route:
Pattharsahib Gurudwara : A beautiful Gurudwara constructed in memory of Guru Nanak Dev.It is situated on the Leh Kargil road.
Magnetic Hill : A hill alleged to have magnetic properties strong enough to pull car uphill. Visitors and residents alike claim the legend to be true.
Confluence of Sindhu and Zanskar rivers is a magical sight apart from the obvious geographical significance.
Alchi Monastery : Located at the Alchi village the monastery counts itself as one of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh region.
Moonland : As the name says it all, this particular area is said to resemble the moon surface.
Lamayuru Monastery : The Monastery is made up of number of shrines and is well known for its magnificent wall paintings.
Mulbekh Monastery : It is said to consist of two Gompas and lies in the Zanskar region.
Day 9
Visit Srinagar
 
En route to Srinagar we’ll visit Vijay Samarak(Kargil War Memorial ) and also on display is the legendary Tiger Hill. After lunch we get back on the road and proceed to Srinagar via Zojila pass(11575 ft). Sonmarg which means “Meadow of Gold”, provides yet another magical twist to the journey as we drive by the Sindh Valley. We mark the beginning of the end of the trip by spending the night in Double deluxe Houseboat.
Day 10
Departure to Mumbai
 
Depart to Mumbai by air with memories for a lifetime.
