Dear Member,
With the mercury rising every day, Jungle Lore is busy helping people
beat the city heat and escaping to cosy wildlife retreats. We got Ms.
Alka Kanetkar to write about her exciting first trip to Ranthambhore
with Jungle Lore last month. We also decided to turn the focus lights
to Hemant Phanse - the Beam's behind-the-scenes-man - and got him to
talk about his experience at a recent Sea Turtle conservation camp.
Last month, we worked with a number of students on multiple trips to Dandeli and Ranathambhore.
Flip to the Snapshots section to see photographs from those trip.
For the regular columns, we decided to go deep sea, featuring Corals
in the Creature Feature section; and talk about 5 of the most valuable
natural fibers derived from animals. While most of these animals are
domestic, many are wild and endangered because of the rising demand
for these fibers.
Our feauture photographer for the month is Tapan Madkikar - hope you
enjoy the pictures he has taken in Ranthmabhore during his visit in
December.
Do flip to the upcoming events for some exciting trips to Kenya and Ladakh. We have designed special trips overlapping festivals and multi-sports activities.
You
can to share your opinions with Jungle Lore by dropping us an email on newsletter.junglelore@gmail.com.
Enjoy!
