About Pench National Park
About Pench Tiger Reserve
Pench Tiger reserve is fondly recalled as the true Kipling country- it is named after the Pench river which flows across the entire park. Pench's claim to a wild tiger country comes from the fact that it has the highest density of herbivore population like the chital, Sambhar etc.. The excellent prey base keeps the Tiger population at a healthy level- sighting the Tiger in all its glory is what makes Pench one of the most beautiful teak jungles of central India.
It is also makes excellent Leopard habitat and is one of few places where Leopard sightings are not out of order. It shot to celebrity status when the BBC wildlife team filmed the brilliant documentary "Tiger- Spy in the Jungle" detailing the life of tigers in Pench.
Wild Animals and Birds at Pench
Animals : Gaur (Indian Bison), Cheetal, Sambar, Nilgai, Wild Dog, Wild Boar, Common Langurs, Rhesus Macaque, Asiatic Jackal, Bengal Fox, Sloth Bear, Ratel, Gray Mongoose, Striped Hyena, Jungle Cat, Leopard, Chinkara and ofcourse the Tiger.
Birds : Known to have around 200 species of birds with celebrity birds like Browed fantails, Steppe eagles, Green pigeons, Grey Malabar Hornbills, Blossom headed Parakeets, Blue bearded bee eaters, Green bee eaters, White bellied drongos, Owls, Minivets, Woodshrikes, Paradise flycatchers, etc. |

Arrive at Nagpur by flight |

Arrive at Nagpur by 9:30 am. Transfer to Pench Jungle camp. http://www.wildlife-camp-india.com Relax at resort. After lunch, jungle safari to pench Tiger Reserve and experience majestic wildlife. On returning back to resort, we shall have an informative slideshow/documentary show on Wild habitat of Pench. & overnight stay at the forest resort. |
