The revered mountains of Adi Kailash & OM Parvat are located on the Indo-China border in the Pithoragarh District of Uttarakhand. Both peaks bear significant religious importance for devotees of Lord Shiva. The Vyas Valley where the Adi Kailash & OM Parvat are located, is a verdant and scenic valley featuring villages like Gunji, Kuti, Nabi.

These villages have comfortable homestays where the local people will treat you with their warmth and hospitality. Now with a new road you can view Mount Kailash from India.

1. Adi Kailash Darshan – The “Chhota Kailash” Experience
Witness the sacred peak believed to be the earthly abode of Lord Shiva and Parvati, set beside the serene Parvati Sarovar. The spiritual energy and surreal setting make this a deeply moving pilgrimage moment.

  • Parvati Kund – A pristine high-altitude lake situated at the base of Adi Kailash, Parvati Kund is considered sacred and is associated with Goddess Parvati. Devotees often offer prayers and collect its holy water as a symbol of purity and blessings.
  • Gauri Kund – A tranquil alpine lake linked to Goddess Gauri (Parvati), Gauri Kund is revered for its spiritual significance and peaceful surroundings. The site provides pilgrims with a place for quiet reflection while they enjoy breathtaking views of Adi Kailash.


2. Om Parvat – Nature’s Divine Symbol
Marvel at the naturally formed ॐ (Om) symbol on the face of Om Parvat, a rare geological and spiritual wonder. This sight, visible only on clear days, is said to be a once-in-a-lifetime blessing for true devotees.

3. Jageshwar Dham – Forest of Ancient Temples
Visit a 1,200-year-old temple complex nestled in a deodar forest. With over 100 intricately carved stone temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, Jageshwar feels like stepping into a living museum of devotion and history.

4. Kainchi Dham – The Ashram of Global Influence
Soak in the peaceful vibrations at Kainchi Dham, the ashram of Neem Karoli Baba, whose teachings inspired global icons. A blend of stillness, devotion, and modern spiritual resonance, this stop connects ancient faith with contemporary seekers.

Daywise Itinerary

  • Drive Duration: Approx. 3hrs 30min (around 130 km)
  • Upon arrival at Bareilly Airport, meet your driver and begin your scenic drive towards Bhimtal.
  • The route gradually ascends into the Kumaon hills, offering beautiful views of forests and mountain landscapes.
  • Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the evening at leisure.
  • If time permits, enjoy a peaceful walk around Bhimtal Lake or explore the local market.

Overnight Stay: Bhimtal

  • Drive Duration: Approx. 4Hrs (around 100 km)
  • After breakfast, depart for Kainchi Dham, the renowned ashram established by Neem Karoli Baba and visited by devotees from around the world.
  • Continue your drive through picturesque Himalayan roads to Jageshwar.
  • Check in to your accommodation and relax amidst the serene deodar forests.

Overnight Stay: Jageshwar

  • Drive Duration: Approx. 5 Hrs 30Min (around 180 km)
  • Visit the ancient Jageshwar Temples, a remarkable group of stone temples dedicated primarily to Lord Shiva and considered one of the most important heritage sites in the Kumaon region.
  • After darshan, continue the scenic drive towards Dharchula, a border town nestled along the Kali River.
  • Arrive by evening and check in to your hotel.

Overnight Stay: Dharchula

  • Drive Duration: Approx. 5 hours 
  • After breakfast, proceed through one of the most dramatic mountain roads in the region towards Nabi.
  • The route passes through high-altitude terrain with spectacular Himalayan scenery and strategic border areas.
  • Complete any required formalities en route and settle into your accommodation upon arrival.

Overnight Stay: Gunji / Nabi

  • Drive Duration: Approx. 2–3 hours each way (depending on road conditions)
  • Early morning departure for the sacred Adi Kailash, revered as the earthly abode of Lord Shiva and often referred to as “Chhota Kailash.”
  • Enjoy breathtaking views of the snow-clad peak and visit nearby sacred sites, including the tranquil Parvati Sarovar.
  • Spend time soaking in the spiritual atmosphere before returning to Gunji/Nabi by evening.

The trek to Parvati Kund and Gauri Kund is about 4km, can be done on Ponies (at an extra cost of about ₹ 3000/- to Rs 4,000/- per person). 

Overnight Stay: Nabi

  • Drive Duration: Approx. 3–4 hours each way (depending on road and weather conditions)
  • After an early breakfast, drive towards the viewpoint for Om Parvat.
  • This unique Himalayan peak is famous for the naturally occurring snow pattern resembling the sacred Hindu symbol “ॐ (Om),” making it an important pilgrimage destination.
  • After spending time at the viewpoint and admiring the spectacular mountain vistas, return to Gunji/Nabi.

You can visit Lipulekh pass at extra cost to get a view of Mt Kailash (subject to Indian Army permission). 

Overnight Stay: Nabi

  • Drive Duration: Approx. 8–9 hours
  • Depart after breakfast for the long but scenic drive to Chaukori.
  • The journey winds through remote Himalayan valleys and charming Kumaoni villages before reaching this peaceful hill station known for panoramic views of the snow-clad peaks.
  • Check in and enjoy a relaxed evening.

Overnight Stay: Chaukori

  • Drive Duration: Approx. 5–6 hours (around 180 km)
  • Following breakfast, drive through the beautiful Kumaon countryside to Mukteshwar.
  • Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the evening enjoying the tranquil atmosphere and mountain views.
  • If time permits, take a leisurely walk around the town or watch the sunset over the Himalayas.

Overnight Stay: Mukteshwar

  • Drive Duration: Approx. 5 hours (around 250 km)
  • After breakfast, check out and begin your drive back to Bareilly Airport.
  • Enjoy the final views of the Kumaon hills as you descend to the plains.
  • Arrive at the airport in time for your onward flight, marking the end of a memorable pilgrimage and Himalayan road journey.
