Daywise Itinerary

Depart from Mumbai by flight to Varanasi and check in at a centrally located, backpacker-friendly hostel—complete with cozy bunk beds and a vibrant atmosphere. After a short rest, take a leisurely walk along the sacred banks of the Ganges and soak in the city’s spiritual energy. In the evening, experience the renowned Maha Ganga Aarti at Dasaswamedh Ghat at 7 PM, either from the steps or on a boat, as chants and lamps light up the river. Return to the hostel for an overnight stay.

Rise early between 5:30 and 6:00 AM to capture the mesmerizing sunrise on the Ganga. An early morning boat ride is highly recommended for stunning views of the river shrouded in morning mist. After breakfast, explore the northern stretch of Varanasi’s main ghats, starting with Man Mandir Ghat, known for its exquisite 17th-century Rajput architecture and preserved astronomical instruments. Continue to Manikarnika Ghat, the city’s largest and most significant cremation ghat. Return to the hostel in the afternoon for some relaxation.

After breakfast, take a short trip to Sarnath, just 12 km from Varanasi. This sacred Buddhist site is where Gautama Buddha delivered his first sermon on Dharma after attaining enlightenment. Explore ancient stupas, monasteries, and the serene surroundings that provide a peaceful escape from the bustling city. Sarnath is perfect for reflection and capturing the spiritual essence of India. Return to the hostel in Varanasi for the evening.

After breakfast, check out from the hostel and proceed to Varanasi Airport to catch your morning flight, carrying with you memories of a vibrant, spiritual, and unforgettable journey.
